Our Mission
At Kinetic Community Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to meaningful, practical education that leads to a stable and rewarding career. Our mission is to introduce youth—especially from underserved communities—to hands-on training in the skilled trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, HVAC, and construction safety practices.
We aim to bridge the gap between education and employment by creating early access to technical career paths, developing job readiness skills, and partnering with local unions, schools, and trade professionals.
Why It Matters
The United States faces a growing skilled labor shortage, especially in construction and with the development of A.I. At the same time, many youth lack exposure to career opportunities outside of traditional college pathways.
That’s where Kinetic Community Foundation steps in.
We are building a pipeline from the classroom to the jobsite—equipping the next generation with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to succeed in high-demand careers. By fostering real-world learning and mentorship, we help kids gain early access to trades that offer long-term stability, financial independence, and community pride.
What We Offer
• After-school and weekend trade workshops.
• Partnerships with unions, contractors, and trade schools.
• Hands-on training in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, welding, and more.
• Mentorship programs with real-world tradespeople.
• Scholarships and tool stipends for high-potential youth.
• Community renovation projects led by youth-in-training.
Programs will begin in the Chicagoland area and expand into Illinois suburbs, with a long-term vision of scaling to other states.
